Welcome to HoneyBee Lane Bees

At HoneyBee Lane Bees, we take great pride in producing high-quality honey, strong nucleus colonies, and healthy Queen bees on our forested, organic, family owned and operated farm in Duncan, BC.  Duncan is a community proudly recognized as one of Canada’s official Bee Cities.

As a community outreach, we offer small-group Bee Farm Tours from May to September. In April we offer free beginner beekeeping classes every Saturday.  Throughout the summer months, we provide free tours to students attending with school, universities and colleges.

Discover the natural sweetness of our products, crafted by bees who forage across our diverse landscape.  Come experience the magic of our apiary, learn how bees thrive, and explore our sanctuary for pollinators of all kinds.

Bee farm tours - you chose between Discovery Tour or Adventure Tours

(Booking forms for tours are located on our Bee Tours page.  Our Farm stand is open every day of the year except when its snowing).

Adventure tours offer hands on in the bee yard with protective clothing provided.   Discovery tours need no special clothing;  visitors see bees safely behind glass screens.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can we expect on a Bee Farm tour?

Tours take place outside come rain or shine.  A certified Beekeeping Instructor provides a history of beekeeping and information about honey bees and their admirable social structure.  There are two types of tours and several bee hives to view including Top Bar, Flow Hive, Langstroth, Slovanian AZ and Skep.   There is some, but not very much walking.

How close do we get to bees?

Vistors on a Discovery Tour are separated from the honey bees with glass but are only inches away and it's usually possible to see a Queen Bee;  please wear closed toe shoes and socks.  Visitors on Adventure tours are provided a bee suit and gloves and are able to open bee hives and touch bees with a gloved hand.    Please wear layers and boots that cover your ankles.  We do have a few sizes of boots for all ages for those who are travelling and do not have boots on hand.

Where is the Bee Farm Located

HoneyBee Lane Bees is located only 3 kilometers from Duncan city center on shores of peaceful Quamichan Lake.  The property is unspoiled and contains old growth trees and over 120 historic Garry Oaks.  The one and half hour tour takes place in the upper section of the propery.  The reception area is located in a small grove of trees where the deer have their babies in the Spring.  From a busy street, the half kilometer driveway leads you to a sanctuary for honey bees and pollinators alike.  Bunnies, quail and occasional deer are often the first to greet you as you drive the half kilometre driveway into a world where time has stopped still.
